Regional sporting clubs get funding assistance
165
regional clubs
have each been awarded $500 from the
Community Sporting Club Equipment Scheme
to spend on increasing or upgrading shared sporting equipment accessible to all club members.
Regional Development Minister Terry Redman said the scheme provided regional clubs with direct assistance to help with the cost of shared equipment.
“There is an increasing demand for equipment in our regional sporting clubs due to population growth. Sporting clubs bring regional communities together and I am pleased Royalties for Regions is creating greater social benefits for regional WA,” Mr Redman said.
The four-year Scheme that started last year is administered by the Department of Sport and Recreation grants $1 million to metropolitan clubs and $1 million to regional clubs. Subsidies for regional clubs are provided through the State Government’s
Royalties for Regions
program.
Applications for the next round open in March 2015. Contact your local
Department of Sport and Recreation office
for regional enquiries.
