Grants to support sustainable regional visitor centres

Visitor centres across regional WA are encouraged to apply for a share in $1.05 million worth of grants in the final round of the Regional Visitor Centre Sustainability Grant Program.

Accredited visitor centres or local government authorities can apply for grants between $40,000 and $100,000. Non-accredited centres working towards accreditation can apply for grants between $5,000 and $40,000.

The funding can be used for innovative projects that make visitor centres more sustainable and adaptable in a changing tourism environment. It can also support accreditation, signage, new technology, refurbishments and the engaging of consultants to develop and implement a new business plan.

Thirty six visitor centres across regional WA, including Halls Creek, Busselton, Kalbarri and Meekatharra, benefited from the second funding round in 2016-17.

Applications close 5pm Friday 16 June 2017.

The Regional Visitor Centre Sustainability Grant Program is made possible by the State Government through Tourism Western Australia and Royalties for Regions.
