New South-West rescue chopper set for take-off

Western Australia's ability to provide critical medical care, 24 hours a day, every day of the year, has doubled with the State's second RAC helicopter operational from February 1.

The new Bunbury Airport-based helicopter will work alongside the Perth-based chopper, providing life-saving services, particularly in regional areas.

Managed by the Department of Fire and Emergency Services, the new helicopter was funded with $29.95 million over four years thanks to the State Government's Royalties for Regions program.
