Esperance Foreshore Redevelopment

Esperance Foreshore Redevelopment

Project Status: Completed November 2014

The Esperance Foreshore project is a world class development that provides a fantastic family oriented destination with modern facilities.

Royalties for Regions has provided the Shire of Esperance with $19.7 million of the $24.6 million required to complete Stages 1 and 2 of the Esperance Waterfront through the Country Local Government Fund, SuperTowns and Regional Grants Scheme.

Stages 3 and 4 of the Foreshore project will be completed at a later date.

Local artists, designers and landscapers were involved in the final design, which provides easy access to the beach from the town centre. A beach side urban plaza that will provide a landmark entry point to the waterfront has also been created in James Street.

The works included:

  • footpaths
  • playground equipment
  • landscaping
  • seating
  • BBQs
  • bike racks
  • picnic shelters
  • shade sails
  • lighting
  • toilet block
  • public art
  • seawall

The Shire of Esperance has received further funding of $250,000 as part of their 2012-13 CLGF Individual allocation.  The funding will be used to purchase and install an all-inclusive playground in the James St Precinct within the Esperance Foreshore redevelopment. Items purchased will include soft fall areas, fencing and shade structure.
