Goldfields Arts Centre
Project status: In progress
The Goldfields Arts Centre is the centrepiece of the cultural scene in the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder. Opened in 1993, it became the premier entertainment venue in the Goldfields, where many State and national shows are staged.
In 2013, Royalties for Regions provided the Goldfields Arts Centre with $6.2 million to look at ways to develop and improve the facility and ensure it continues to offer residents a contemporary arts and entertainment experience.
The funding will be used to:
- Establish the Centre's operational management
- Implement remedial works and upgrades program (i.e. building, air conditioning, furniture etc.)
- Replace essential equipment
When the project is complete, communities in the Goldfields Esperance region will lay claim to a contemporary entertainment facility.
The Goldfields Arts Centre is the only multi-functional arts venue in the Goldfields region and one of only three A Class Art Galleries in regional Western Australia.
