Skills Training Initiative
Project status: Ongoing until February 2017
Royalties for Regions has invested $110.5 million over five years to a range of skills training projects that will improve access to trade training in regional Western Australia.
The initiative is helping to address critical skills shortages by progressing skills training infrastructure projects that include:
Creating a trade training centre at the Broome Campus
Expansion and refurbishment of workshop facilities at the Derby Campus
Upgrade to the Halls Creek Campus
Upgrade and expand South Hedland, Pundulmurra and Karratha campuses
Construct centres for training and workforce development in the health and resources sectors.
Construct a community services, children's services and health sciences teaching block at the Albany campus
Construct a health and community training centre at the Peel Campus
- State Training Provider Critical ICT capital infrastructure upgrades
Upgrade and expansion of accommodation facilities for students
Establish Muresk Institute as a commercially sustainable multi-tenanted, multi-functional training and education precinct
The Department of Training and Workforce Development is the lead agency for this project.
