Derby Mental health clinic
Project Status: Completed
Mental health services in Derby and surrounding communities are benefiting from the opening of new fit-for-purpose outpatient clinic, run by the WA Country Health Services' Kimberley Mental Health and Drug Service.
An investment of $1.18million was provided through Royalties for Regions, to assist with the refurbishment of the vacant Derby Hospital Maternity ward, with the remainder of funding being provided by the Mental Health Commission and the WA Country Health Service.
Services at the clinic include mental health, drug and alcohol prevention and counselling as well as child and adolescent mental health services.
The new premises provide a culturally appropriate service with improved facilities including:
- interview and treatment rooms
- storage facilities
- amenities suitable for adults, adolescents and children.
