Kellerberrin Recreation and Leisure Centre
Project status: Completed
Kellerberrin now has a new first class recreation complex and most of the town's sporting groups are together at one location.
The centre was funded with $1.85 million of Royalties for Regions funding, with the local community contributing $1 million in labour, sand and transport.
The new Recreation and Leisure centre includes a bar/club room with outdoor terrace, creche, kitchen and family dining room, meeting rooms, gymnasium and sports equipment storage. The project also included improving facilities for the Central Wheatbelt Harness Racing Club and upgrading the synthetic bowling greens.
Kellerberrin can now host bigger and more ambitious sporting and social events, such as the annual agricultural show, the pony club's two day horse trials and bowling tournaments.
