Shark Bay Community Sport and Recreation Centre

Denham in the Shire of Shark Bay now has a much needed multi-purpose community, sport and recreation centre in thanks to a Royalties for Regions investment of $4.15 million to the $5.479 million project sourced through:
The Shire of Shark Bay contributed the balance of funds for the project which was completed in 2012. The integrated all-weather venue, located on Francis Street in Denham now provides for
- indoor sports and recreation events
- a state-of-the-art gymnasium
- a multi-purpose meeting room that can cater for up to 90 people
- a venue that is capable of hosting major events.
The multi-purpose community, sport and recreation centre has been designed to meet the current and future needs of the Shark Bay community.
The Shark Bay Community Sport and Recreation Centre is one of a number of projects being delivered through the Gascoyne Revitalisation Plan which will rejuvenate the Shark Bay area in time for the commemorative celebrations marking the 400th anniversary of Dirk Hartog's landing being planned for October 2016.
