Denham jetty

Denham jetty

Project Status: Works commenced

Denham's recreational jetty is being replaced with a brand new, multipurpose jetty thanks to a $2.2 million Royalties for Regions investment through the $150 million Gascoyne Revitalisation Plan.

The new, 90 metre jetty is a well overdue replacement of the current structure which was significantly damaged by a cyclone in 1986.

Denham is one of the few locations where locals and tourists have formal access to enjoy the waters of the World Heritage Listed Shark Bay and the modern new facility will continue to be the centerpiece of the Denham foreshore.

The jetty will support the local recreational fishing, boating and tourism sectors, creating vibrancy in the town and boosting the local economy.

Works are expected to be complete by the end of 2015, in time for the commemorative celebrations marking the 400th anniversary of Dirk Hartog's landing being planned for October 2016.
